Winter Flowers in Ueno

I posted abotu Peony Festival in Ueno.  In Toshogu Shrine where the festival is held, there are other flowers, too.  Winter has fewer flowers than other seasons but still there are many that you can enjoy.

I found two yellow flowers; Narcissus and Winter Sweets.  Japanese name of Winter Sweets is Plum.  they look like plum flowers but it seems plum flowers and winter sweets are different in kind. Narcissus Wintersweet in Ueno

I also found a very unique plant which I saw for the first time in my life.  It is Edgeworthia Chrysantha.  Japanese name Mitsumata means three branches and I understood immediately why it was so called.
