Walking along the Traditional Temple Street – Shibamata Taishakuten Temple

Shibamata Taishakuten Temple is a very old temple founded in 1629 and it is located in the North Eastern part of Tokyo which is close to the border between Tokyo and Chiba prefecture.  The street stretching from the entrance of the temple to the station of Shibamata has many traditional sweets shops and souvenir shops and it is enjoyable to walk along the street.

People are eating sweets and snacks on the way or maybe dropping by the restaurant and finally reach to the temple.

Once upon a time, a monk found a very nice looking pine tree.  And that location became Taishakuten Temple.

Please look at this gorgeous stanning pine tree.  This is just one tree.

Inside the temple, there are paintings by Yokoyama Taikan who is a famous Japanese painter.  There are other artifacts inside the temple so I will write about them later.

The garden is also very beautiful.
