Yanaka Cemetery

Between the two walking spots of Jomyo-in Temple and Kan’ei-ji Temple, there is Yanaka Cemetery.

The most famous grave in this cemetery is that of Yoshinobu Tokugawa, the last Shogun of Edo Era.

This is one of the famous cherry-blossom viewing spots in Tokyo.  The line of cherry blossom trees is gorgeous.

Japanese government confiscated a part of the property of Ten’no-ji Temple and turned it into the cemetery in 1874.

In addition to the last shogun’s grave, there are many other famous ones but there was not a signboard and I couldn’t notice them.

Address: Yanaka, Taito-ku, Tokyo
